How are the winners of the Love A Local Business small business grants selected?
Votes from small business owners and fans accummulate between July 1 and September 30, 2010. Votes are like raffle tickets – the more votes a business has the more chances they have to win.
- At then end of each month (July, August, September), one (1) business is randomly chosen from all of the nominations posted since the start of the contest on July 1. (I.e. votes from July carry over to August and September; votes from August carry over to September.)
- Those businesses who win monthly small business grants worth $5000 become Finalists who are eligible to win the Grand Prize grant worth $25,000.
- For the Grand Prize, an additional grant worth $25,000, our guest judge(s) will review the nominating comments, business website or blog of the three (3) Finalists who win July, August and September.
- The judge(s) will then determine which one (1) of the three (3) Finalists will win the Grand Prize by selecting the business that is most ”loved by its customers, vendors, employees, or local community.”
