Google has reported recently that up to 20% of their searches include location signals, which equates to roughly 3 billion searches per month and this trend is more than likely to continue to increase, by how much I do not know but even at 20% this is a significant trend that your business should be capitalizing on.
Choosing to not claim your business profile on Goolge Maps can lead to Hijacked, Merged, Erroneous and or Irrelevant information about your company that may lead to lost sales, fake bad reviews and more.
As important as defending your business from the previously stated issues allot of searchers these days are accustomed to seeing location results when searching in Google, what happens when they search for your company?
Going forward I believe that most people will come to expect to see their favorite local companies listed in Google Maps and shows your customers and potential customers that you care about your brand image, which in turn gives them pride about shopping at your location which can lead to word of mouth sales, reviews, foot traffic as well as search traffic to your website.
