Search engine submission seems to be a hot topic lately with allot of misleading information being flung about by unscrupulous internet marketing service companies willing to take a dime from anybody that doesn't understand the basics.
The reality of it all is that the search engines have at least two free alternatives, one of which is, to gain legitimate links to your website, for instance having a twitter or facebook account and posting a link to your feed can get your site spidered by Google in a matter of minutes and your website in the main search index within perhaps as few as an hour or two.
